Decision-making Razors kit — Simplify your life decisions
It was the time when I was stuck between two choices. Both were in my favor, but I wasn't sure which one to choose. The choices were joining college or doing family business.
Luckily there was no pressure from my family to choose one of them. So, I chose what I had to—I decided to go with college. I did it because I wanted to experience and learn something new.
It was hard to move from my hometown to a new city and live alone. I chose it anyway.
Fast forward to today, I realise that the decision I made has a psychological term and it's called 'razors.' A razor is a rule of thumb to simplify your decision-making.
Why it matters?
There are nearly 40+ razors to help one with his life decisions. Mine was Uphill (Naval's) razor, which states when choosing between two paths, choose the difficult one for short-term with long-term gains.
The idea that stuck with me was:
Easy choices -> Hard life
Hard choices -> Easy life
Keeping in mind this idea, I curated all the other useful razors and built an eBook to help people who struggle with their decisions in life.
The best part is they are simple, clutter-free, cuts confusion, and helps simplify decision-making.
